The opening round was the most competitive as it was a pretty close round until Edgar secured a late takedown that seemed to win him the round. In the remaining four rounds, it was all Edgar. The former lightweight champion was able to take Swanson down at will. Edgar was staying active the whole time, always trying for submissions and landing ground and pound punches. Swanson to his credit, was able to avoid getting the fight, but Edgar proved to be too much on this night....

Derrick Lewis, who earned a unanimous decision victory over Francis Ngannou at UFC 226, detailed that he will go to Germany for stem cell therapy in an attempt to find a solution to his long-standing back problems. The much-hyped fight between Lewis and Ngannou turned out to be a dud as both men appeared extremely gun shy and wary of the other’s power. Some combat sports athletes have been expressing their thoughts on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. UFC featherweight Brian Kelleher, who is set to face Russia’s Umar Nurmagomedov, is one of them. Kelleher is an American, but he is apparently siding with Ukraine. On Twitter, ‘Boom’ announced that he will bring the Ukrainian flag when he does his walkout at UFC 272: Umar is a cousin of UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov....

The May 13 card is a revamped card for UFC Fight Night Lincoln, which had to be cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Three days later, on May 16, the UFC will hold their third event in a week which features a heavyweight showdown of epic proportions between Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris as the main event....
