At only 32 years of age, Miocic (12-2) could be hitting his stride and looks to be a fighter with a lot of upside in a heavyweight division that seems wide open. Stipe did lose his last fight to Junior dos Santos in December, but that was a five-round war that could have gone either way and earned Fight of the Night honors. Miocic, who has used his striking a lot more lately, also has a very good wrestling base and might put that to good use against the shorter Hunt....

However, as per Lightweight contender Al Iaquinta, McGregor isn’t deserving of another title shot and never has been. In case you didn’t know… At UFC 229, Khabib Nurmagomedov successfully defended his UFC Lightweight Title against Conor McGregor in a highly awaited but more of a one-sided fight. Nurmagomedov defeated McGregor in the fourth round of their fight thanks to a nasty neck-crank submission. The heart of the matter While speaking with TMZ Sports, Al Iaquinta, who recently broke into the Top 5 standings in the UFC Lightweight Division following his win over Kevin Lee, stated that he doesn’t feel McGregor should get another shot at the UFC Lightweight Title unless it’s just a “money thing”....

The Eagle’s manager, Rizvan Magomedov was interviewed by FightWorldTurkey recently and he revealed that his client intends on facing Tony Ferguson next before shifting his attention to a super fight with the legendary Georges St-Pierre. Magomedov was certain that Tony Ferguson is next in line to get a shot at ending Nurmagomedov’s undefeated reign. The Dagestani grappler’s manager admitted that the negotiations between the UFC and GSP fell apart but his client is willing to sign up for the dream fight if the Canadian legend and the promotion come to an agreement....

The Brazilian wonders what he must do in order to attract the attention of the top draw in the promotion. Speaking to MMA Fighting, ‘Hannibal’ spoke about how the promotion is still uncertain about his next opponent. Silva is undefeated in professional MMA, and has amassed a record of 14 wins and no losses but he is frustrated because he is still not being booked against top-ranked fighters. Now desperate, the fighter is contemplating doing something drastic to draw the UFC’s attention - traveling to Ireland and mauling former lightweight champion, Conor McGregor....

The UFC boss’ message to Triple C is loud and clear. Defend the title against Joseph Benavidez or vacate it. Dana White was part of a media scrum during his Contender Series where he was asked about the double champion’s future. White said that Cejudo would have to put the title on the line against Joesph Benavidez or be forced to drop one of the belts. White shot down the idea of seeing Jose Aldo at Bantamweight as he doesn’t see the former Featherweight Champion cutting so much weight....

However, there has been no response to this on Volkov’s part. Instead, he showed interest in facing other fighters from the division, such as Junior dos Santos or Alistair Overeem. MMA Junkie reported on what Ngannou had to say about that. Francis Ngannou: “Volkov has turned me down twice” Volkov is a veteran of 38 professional MMA fights and has a 5-1 record in UFC. Latifi debuted in the UFC at heavyweight in 2008 and competed in two bouts; a no-contest against Blagoy Ivanov and a knockout victory over Roman Mihocka. He then decided to move down to the light heavyweight division in 2009 and has been competing at 205 lbs for over a decade now. In case you didn’t know… Hooker vs Iaquinta has been on the radar since UFC on ESPN 4 back in July. Hooker claimed an impressive victory over James Vick at that event and publicly called out Iaquinta during his post-fight interview. As expected, Iaquinta did not shy away from the call out, as he took to Twitter to accept the Australian’s invitation to fight almost immediately. In case you didn’t know… After an absence of two years from the UFC, former two-division champion Conor McGregor will make his return to the Octagon in early October, as the Irishman prepares himself for a Lightweight Title match against Khabib Nurmagomedov. McGregor’s last appearance in the Octagon was way back in 2016 at UFC 205 when the former Featherweight Champion defeated Eddie Alvarez at the Madison Square Garden and won the UFC Lightweight Championship for the first time in his career....

It appears that the promotion won’t be allowing everyone on their flyweight roster the opportunity to compete at bantamweight and as a result, a number of fighters are expected to be released. In case you didn’t know… Prior to the release of both Torres and Brooks, the UFC had as many as 35 flyweights under contract. 11 of those fighters currently have fights scheduled and it remains to be seen what will happen for those athletes....

Usman defended his welterweight title in a rematch with Covington at UFC 268. The fight turned out to be one for the ages with both men leaving everything inside the octagon. In the end, all three judges gave the nod to Usman, who won via unanimous decision. Chimaev returned to the octagon at UFC 267 and put the entire welterweight division on notice by picking up a stunning first-round submission win over Li Jingliang....

At UFC 272 on March 5, another career of his may be at a crossroads. Inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Hardy will face off against another tough opponent in Sergey Spivak. At 7-4 with one no-contest in his MMA career, Hardy, still considered a novice to a degree, is reaching a point where a win or loss can make or break his run in the UFC and MMA....

In case you didn’t know… Following his triumphant win over Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 229, current Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov ignited one of the wildest UFC brawls of all time when The Eagle jumped over the Octagon and attacked McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis. Both McGregor and Khabib’s fight camps quickly joined in on the action, as both teams started swinging at each other both inside and outside of the cage as hell broke loose....

No sooner had his parting of ways with UFC went public, than the Japanese promotion RIZIN picked him up for a title fight. The bout was announced by RIZIN on Tuesday and was reported by MMA Fighting. UFC’s loss is RIZIN’s gain Dollaway recently tested positive for a number of banned substances and was handed a two-year suspension by USADA, which ended his 11-year tenure at the promotion. USADA reported that one of Dolloway’s samples for an out-of-competition test done on December 19, 2018, contained anastrozole, GHRP-2 and GHRP-6, and another one done on December 13, 2018 had excess amounts of IV infusion....

A substantial amount of time away from the Octagon can render poor performances even in the case of champions.
