The main event of UFC London will have Curtis Blaydes take on Tom Aspinall. Blaydes, an NJCAA National Champion, made his MMA debut in 2014. Joining the UFC in 2016, he lost his first promotional fight against Francis Ngannou. At one point, Blaydes went on a 4-0 run against the likes of Mark Hunt and Alistair Overeem. Before he could get a heavyweight title shot, however, Blaydes once again lost to Ngannou, this time in 2018.

Following that loss, Blaydes won four in a row. Derrick Lewis halted his momentum this time via knockout in 2021. Blaydes has since won two in a row, last beating Chris Daukaus via TKO in March.

Aspinall, born in the Greater Manchester area, made his pro debut in 2013. Competing for BAMMA and Cage Warriors, Aspinall joined the UFC in 2020. He is 5-0 with the promotion, with three wins via TKO and two via submission. Aspinall’s last fight was a submission win over Alexander Volkov in March when the UFC was last in the U.K.

Fan favorites Molly McCann and Paddy Pimblett will also be competing on the card.
