Marcello left the Chute Box and went solo with his own martial arts academy called CM System, which inaugurated in March 2009 in Curitiba, Brazil. Currently, only one fighter from CM System is fighting under the UFC banner, 33-year-old Welterweight fighter Elizeu Zaleski.

In an interview with MMA Fighting, Marcello urged UFC to take notice of his students and sign them up for the upcoming season.

Marcello: We are the best MMA team in Brazil

Marcello, who is also the head coach at CM System, claims that he has the best MMA team right now in Brazil.

As it turns out, Marcello’s claims are quite justified, given the current records of his proteges across events and tournaments.

Edilceu Alves from CM System currently holds the Shooto Brazil Flyweight gold, while Luid Cado and Matheus Scheffel are the owners of the current Welterweight and Heavyweight Championship belts respectively at Future MMA.

Another CM fighter and former participant of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 4, Adilson Fernandez will also be fighting at Future MMA soon. Fernandes will be going up against Bellator veteran Gleristone Santos for the first 155-pound title match at Future MMA to be held on December 6.

CM System has left their mark at Brave CF as well, with Daniel Pereira fighting for the Middleweight title on December 7 and Luan Santiago already holding the Lightweight belt. He will be fighting in the Welterweight division next.

It certainly seems like Marcello asking for two more CM System fighters to be debuted at UFC when they visit Brazil in March is not unjustified at all.
