Mousasi recently spoke to FOX Sports to discuss his upcoming rematch with Hall, to which the Dutchman confessed that this contest is more personal than anything, as he believes he could be contesting for the middleweight title right now if he wanted to:
“I’ve got nothing against him. He’s probably a nice guy, but I want my revenge. It’s more personal but not against Uriah Hall. It’s against people that thought that he’s the better fighter,” he added.
Hall took home a second round knockout win over Mousasi in their first meeting at UFC Fight Night 76 in Japan last year, as ‘Primetime’ landed a devastating jumping spinning back kick, which he followed up with a flying knee and some punches.
Mousasi has since called the knockout loss a fluke and will get his opportunity to prove if that is the case this weekend.
Mousasi and Hall will meet in the main event of UFC Fight Night 99 live on UFC Fight Pass, from The SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland this Saturday night (November 19, 2016).
